We Started Where You Are Now

Back in 2018, we weren't financial experts. We were just folks who'd watched investment opportunities slip by while fear kept us on the sidelines. That changed when we decided to face those fears head-on.

Why We Do This Work

Most financial education starts with charts and terminology. We start with something more basic—acknowledging that being nervous about investing is completely normal. Because it is.

Our approach came from sitting across the table from real people in Surrey, listening to their actual concerns. Not theoretical worries from textbooks, but genuine hesitations about putting money somewhere unfamiliar.

How This All Started

Some businesses have dramatic founding stories. Ours is more gradual—three friends realizing we'd all avoided investing for years, then deciding to figure it out together.

2018

The Beginning

Started meeting weekly in a coffee shop, researching investment basics. Nothing fancy—just trying to understand why we'd been so scared to start.

2021

Going Public

Launched our first workshop series after friends kept asking for advice. Turned out lots of people shared our initial hesitations about markets and risk.

2024

Current Focus

Now working with clients across British Columbia, still using the same patient, fear-first approach that helped us get started seven years ago.

Meet the Team

We're a small group. That's intentional—it means when you work with us, you're actually working with us, not getting passed to junior staff or automated systems.

Lead Educator

Former accountant who spent his twenties convinced investing was only for wealthy people. Now helps others realize that thinking was wrong—though he gets why it feels true.

Our Teaching Philosophy

We don't rush anyone. Some clients are ready to start after three months of learning. Others need ten. Both timelines are fine.

The financial industry loves selling urgency—"invest now or miss out!" That pressure doesn't help when you're genuinely uncertain. We'd rather you take time and feel solid about your decisions.

What Makes Us Different

Most investment education either oversimplifies or overwhelms. We try for middle ground—acknowledging complexity without making it sound impossible to understand.

And we're honest about what we don't know. Markets surprise everyone sometimes. Anyone claiming perfect predictions is either lying or delusional. We focus on building understanding rather than pretending we've got secret formulas.

How We Actually Work With People

Three core areas we focus on, based on what's actually stopped people from starting their investment journey.

Understanding financial fundamentals through practical education

Breaking Down the Basics

We start with terminology and concepts that confused us when we began. What's a mutual fund, really? How do bonds actually work? Why does everyone talk about diversification? Clear answers to questions you might feel silly asking.

Addressing common investment fears and concerns

Addressing Real Fears

Fear of losing money. Fear of looking ignorant. Fear of getting scammed. Fear of starting too late. We've heard them all because we've felt them all. We work through each one systematically, without dismissing how genuine these concerns are.

Building long-term financial confidence and knowledge

Building Actual Confidence

Knowledge doesn't automatically create confidence. You can understand concepts and still feel uncertain. We spend time on the emotional side—helping you recognize when fear is protective versus when it's holding you back unnecessarily.

Our next workshop series begins in September 2025. Small groups, relaxed pace, no pressure to make immediate decisions. Just practical education from people who remember what being a complete beginner feels like.
